Every church has a certain culture or DNA. This culture is formed by convictions the church holds dear. At Fortified Hills, these six core convictions inform our DNA. These are the truths that drive and shape us as a church.
Jesus is better
We were created to be captivated by the incomparable glory of Christ. We aim to show him as the hero and one who satisfies our souls. It's not about us. It's about him.
The gospel changes everything
The good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection is not just doctrine we profess but also news by which we are shaped. We seek to proclaim the gospel faithfully and live out its implications tangibly.
God speaks through his Word
That God has spoken changes everything. Since the Bible is the living and active word of God we sit in joyful submission under it and let God shape us individually and as a church through his Word.
The Church exists for mission
Heaven and Hell are real, and our mission is clear. We have good news that frees and compels us to sacrifice comfort and preference that we might leverage all we have for the good of our neighbor and the fame of Jesus.
Community is vital
The Christian life was never meant to be lived in isolation or behind a mask. In Christ, we are family and free from having to pretend or perform. We aim to be a community of faith where you can be fully known and fully loved
Our God is big
Our King is not just any king, but the King of all kings. He is the sovereign creator and ruler of the cosmos. Therefore, we are a people marked by humble dependence and steady courage.
